Description

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue derived from the N-terminal fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH 4-7), developed by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Research has focused on its role in modulating brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) expression, dopaminergic and serotonergic system activity, and neuroprotective signalling pathways. It is frequently studied alongside Selank in cognitive research contexts. It is supplied in lyophilised form for research purposes.
