Description

Melanotan II is a synthetic analogue of the naturally occurring peptide hormone alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), consisting of a cyclic heptapeptide structure. Research has focused on its role as a non-selective melanocortin receptor agonist, with binding activity at MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, and MC5R subtypes. Studies have examined its role in melanogenesis, pigmentation pathways, and central nervous system melanocortin signalling. It is supplied in lyophilised form for research purposes.
