Description

LL-37 is a 37 amino acid cationic antimicrobial peptide and the only known human cathelicidin, derived from the C-terminal domain of the precursor protein hCAP-18. It is produced by neutrophils, macrophages, mast cells, and epithelial cells as part of the innate immune response. Research has focused on its role in antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, immunomodulatory signalling, wound healing, and angiogenesis. Studies have also examined its role in modulating toll-like receptor signalling pathways and its interactions with epithelial and immune cells. It is supplied in lyophilised form for research purposes.
