Description

DSIP is a naturally occurring nonapeptide consisting of 9 amino acids, first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits in a sleep-induced state. It is found endogenously in the hypothalamus, limbic system, and peripheral organs including the pancreas and adrenal glands. Research has focused on its role in sleep-wake cycle regulation, neuroendocrine modulation, and stress response pathways. Studies have also examined its antioxidant properties and its effects on pituitary hormone release, including growth hormone and LH secretion. It is supplied in lyophilised form for research purposes.
